STOP SOPA NOW!!!!!

Think about your website....even if you don't have one, let's just say for now that you do....and a large portion of your users are Americans. They are allowed to post links and materials that go against the criteria of the Stop Online Piracy Act and then, since you "didn't do enough to stop it," your site winds up being blocked to American users.....Guess what that means? Your traffic plummets, your services get more expensive because you lost a large portion of your market which prompts the other users that are in other countries around the world (such as Russia, China, Japan, the UK, Ireland, France, Italy, etc) to slowly stop using your services because the prices increased. It means that you'd have to shut your site down. But why should you do that? Hmm? It's free enterprise, man! This law has the potential to shut down businesses that rely on the Internet because the American government would have the ability to block websites just because of either a few trolls or some people who want to be able to express what the feel or what they want to share but can't do it any other way.

This is why you must support this effort! >:O Petition the government, lobby Congress, do something to get them to WAKE THE FUCK UPso that they don't wind up screwing the country over even more than they already did! What is it, do they want to be China or something? If they want to be Chinese, why don't they just surrender the fuckin' country to fuckin' China?! It's tons easier, dammit!

Look, let's face it....there's a shitload of websites actually blacking themselves out in protest of SOPA and possibly PIPA.....this is the way that Congress is gonna kill the Internet! :O Really! I swear, half of the Internet's websites out there are gonna be down for a while....so that Congress has to decide which to kill: the bill or the Internet and markets that rely on it, especially in the entertainment industry. So.....help us out here, okay? We don't need this bullshit happening! We've got enough with the wars and everything, why add more to it?

I'm not sure which sites I wanna black out but for GOD'S SAKES......and everyone else's sanity, DON'T DO THIS TO US, CONGRESS!

In other news, I'll probably tell you more about my views of it when I do this radio show thing I'm trying to work on. X_x I'm hoping everyone listens in. Word of warning, I had set it to explicit, so I can curse freely without needing to censor myself. It's on BlogTalkRadio, for free, and I'm happy I could start one up....hopefully.

Hope you don't mind the annotations and stuff. I did put the wrong date in there: it's supposed to be the 21st, not 18th. Lol, just a mistake.

Anyways, working on a photoshoot, not getting kicked out (i have my apartment FINALLY....don't remember if I shared that with you guys yet....), aaaand other things. I'll let you know how it goes after the nukes of my world have hit and the fallout has settled.....

Second Semester, SL Trimesters, Naughty Pixels and Much Moar COWBELL!

Alrighty, looks like we've got an update for you.....One, I'm still on SL....don't know for how much longer but, dammit, I'm staying! No more missing out on cool things, no more missing out on fun....I AM KEEPING MY PIXELS INSIDE AND I WILL DUCT TAPE THEM THERE!

After that random nonsense brought on by lack of medication (they wore off by this early early early morning time), I shall go through a few other updates.

~~Liquid Renegade is currently an Amaretto Breedables horse ranch being run by me....I've offered my SL sis to sell them under my brand but she hasn't answered me back yet. Yet it gets kinda crazy in here, considering how LOADS of people pay INSANE amounts of L$s for certain horses. I've battled for less, but my sis seems to get the better ones for some reason. There's also the goddamn demon horses I soooo want desperately! Like...."I'm a demon and I wantz muh demonz horsey plz! I can haz it fer frees? DERP DERP!" It's insane! They do rare-as-hell-freezing-over stuff, like pegasus and unicorn and robocorn (robotic unicorn for those not in-the-know) and charmed and albino and....it's insane! All I've got are horses waiting for teh seckz so that I can sell off their offspring in pixelated crates of hay to whomever cares or wants one. Plus, it looks like we have to start selling off some of our actual horses while we figure out which ones do the best and which ones do the worst. My Silver Arabian gamble turned out to be a bust....so I should probably start selling off all the lamer-resulting ones. I should also stud the females for like.....I dunno, 2k L$s per stud? With an extra 500 for the bundle if they wish to keep it?

Anyways......I may have started late, but the whole OHMAHGUH HORSE thing may be a bit out of control. >_<;; But it does bring some money in. I said SOME. It's not something that I can build an empire on but it's a start. I just gotta learn how to do sculpties and shit and textures in SL before I start doing real outfits..... So for now, Liquid Renegade is doing some ranching and auctioning; you'll most likely see my shit at Mile Hi Stables and Auctioning, where it's realllll good. I'll be trying to do the auctions that Labyrinth Darkwatch or IceBlade Moorsider will be auctioneering at. They aren't like, professionals but they're damn good, Ice especially, since he managed to get a FallnAngels horse sold for a shitload of money! Same for the other ones that usually go for like....few hundred Ls...maybe even a thousand? But when Taevion Cedrus' bro shows up, break out your credit cards cuz he is a lean mean bidding machine and Ice keeps ramping it up. But Dutchh is pretty cool. And we all wind up having fun! \o/

~~FallnAngels Creations finally put out an outfit named after me--sorta. It's them Nede Silks on the Silks Floor of the Mainstore. And I have to tell you, their products are amazing! They might be a bit different from what you're used to in America, but if you like to try Chinese/Japanese/other different foods and you enjoy other ethnic groups like Indian, Chinese, Asian (in general), even Elven/Fantasy/Goth(ish) clothes, furniture, skins, and hair, well then you'll love Falln! Even the owners and the group is awesome! There are people from many different backgrounds and you'll learn to accept each of them if you're that....uneasy about different cultures and lifestyles.

So, yeah, since you get some perks as a FallnAngel, you wind up squeeing as you see your name put on an outfit. Mine, as it turns out, was the Nede Silks; I know, I'm Eden on there, but for reals, guys, "Eden" was already used for another outfit....So Azriel decided to so something different, by doing my name BACKWARDS. Yeah, backwards, like me! xD And I also got the entire set of colors to enjoy so I have to really really say it again, THANK YOU SO MUCH, AZ!!!!!! I enjoyed how it is different and not the usual "silk in front, silk in back" but rather....Four corners, plus skimpy top! ♥ It's very well done, and very cute, too!

~~I've been on this blog, Flickr, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter (200 followers!), Digg, Formspring, Livestream, Ustream, BlogTV, Runescape, Newgrounds, and I can't seem to remember the rest of them. But from what I know, I've got a lot of accounts out there under the screen name "LadyEden1337" and I'm telling you now that I've got another one: Tumblr. It's not that big or that great yet but if you follow me on there, you might be able to get stuff that you don't see on the other accounts....might, not will. I can't guarantee you that you didn't see anything there that you haven't seen on here or on another place.....

That's all for now but i'm going to update this post some more later.....

Updates--New Twitter, Second Life and Life in Repeat

Sorry for those who just noticed that I changed my blog settings as well as my profile settings. I might as well start reviewing things (critiquing certain items such as flash and browser games, as well as many Internet sites and the likes) and because I might be tweeting my blog posts, I decided to continue to use my online alias of Eden Pyrithea rather than my real life name because I like the anonymity and the protection it provides me. That being said, let's move on to the meat of this post.

Life--I'm back at college, sophomore year, friends with Dexter Manning on my real life Facebook (aka FACEFUCK!) account. Re: Dexter Manning thing--EEEEEP! Unfortunately, my parents are still being pricks about my having a Second Life and so I had to leave my computer behind at home when I moved out here to Collegeland. And I mean the entire computer: tower, monitor, mouse, keyboard, everything--except the headphones and microphones and flash drive. Which means that I can't check in on what I missed over the summer due to the anti-Second Life crackdown my parents are enforcing for "my benefit." And that caused me to miss out on Insilico and Siden Darkest Urban Roleplay action, as well as +DV8+ and Black Maria sales, Bloodlines vampire clan news, Midnight Mania, seasonal grid-wide shopping hunts, my friends and SL family's activities, and the (almost) prime reason why I must get on, which is to get a head start on launching my multi-platform fashion-and-entertainment production company known as Liquid Renegade. I will tell you now--THE NAME IS MINE, DON'T FUCKING TAKE IT OR I'M SUING YOUR ASS(ES)! But I already got started on building it, with a logo of my own design and a CafePress merchandise shop set up! Here's the link....

Also, I've managed to create a very active social life with thanks to the Humans Vs Zombies Game. I met a bunch of great people, several of whom I helped out, and several of whom helped me out. What sucks is that the zombies lost (with me among them) but at least I was able to get started on making many friendships, make a friendship develop further into a special sort of relationship with a particular Harless employee/student, and get involved with Nerf club! ^_^

Second Life is once again absent from my life due to my parents disagreeing with me having one and, as a result, disallowed me from having my computer in my room. So I'm missing major events that'll screw over my character because I was not able to participate in it due to lack of grid access. Which really sucks. At least I was able to get an emergency story arc together briefly off the top of my head, where it has my character Eden being captured and held captive by the gang she fled from being a member of. Somehow she was released and was taken to the roleplaying city's medlab to heal her wounds, many of which are quite serious; imagine being tortured by having a drug cocktail that consists of heroin AND crack cocaine injected into you! Now she's addicted, starving, and in hiding to not be caught again. But I'm looking for volunteers for people to take on the roles of those very gangsters.....I'll have to come up with a sign up roster thing for it....... Also, it's a shame to hear that the Emerald Viewer is no longer an accepted third-party viewer for logging in to Second Life..... What's worse is that Linden Labs (the people who run SL) has also recently bought Avatars United and is currently shutting it down as well as redoing a shitload of things. They already redid the official Second Life Viewer by putting out version 2.0 and here's my take: smooth foreign program that makes no sense to me. I mean it RUNS GREAT! That's pretty much it because I could hardly get used to the new layout. The n00bs would be able to get into it, but since I'm pre-2.0, I'd rather stick to the old one. So I have to try out either the other third party viewers such as Phoenix or Emergence, or I could get used to the awesome pretty smoothness of v2.0.

New Twitter--Apparently LL isn't the only one forcing it's products and users through a makeover: Twitter is going for the new layout and new ways to access yours and your fellow tweeps' status updates as well as "simplifying" the whole thing. Yes, I have everything there in front of me--retweets, followers, following, expansion pane for details, tabs for mentions and retweets, etc. The bad news would be the fact that with the wider set-up, there's less background to see, and I really want people to see my background! :( Also, on the new twitter, when you're on your home page, the F5 key will no longer work. It's a shame because I have to now use my browser's refresh button or press the "x number of new tweets" banner that shows up. PLUS, lots of it is built on Flash being up to date and awesomes, not like the out-dated shitty computer I was using earlier yesterday during work-study. But all of the graphics elements were present on there, on the shitty computer, which is AMAZING! With the old twitter, certain graphical elements would not load or it would take too fucking long to load that I have to either refresh or deal with it. But I think I am warming up to the New Twitter, despite it's small flaws.

Reviewing--Oh! And I started to share my opinion with the world by writing reviews on various things, such as Flash and browser games. Let's get this straight: flash games and browser games are not as popular as the video games stuff such as Xbox360, Nintendo Wii, PS3, etc, but they are probably second-most popular in that not everyone (are you paying attention? NOT EVERYONE) has a video game console like the ones I listed here. I, in fact, am one of those who have to live without her Halo gamertag and connecting on Xbox Live and the likes. So, I turned to flash games. YIPPEE! Especially since, recently, I have reviewed a couple of Nutcasenightmare's games in such detail. And since I tend to be very good at that sort of writing, I'll take it up on the side! (Here's a link to my reviews on Newgrounds! Most recent one submitted is on the top.)

So, summary: I'm alive sans Second Life + Xbox/Halo + much of my sanity....but I found new things to enjoy. Plus, I'm gonna be a critic--so watch out! Or else I'll slam your creations and you'll end up losing money! >:F Later, luvvaz!

(Oh, did I mention that I'm no longer co-owner of the Pour House? It was a mutual heated agreement loaded with drama. Either way, I left that dump. It can sink or swim for all I care. But I've got MY niche: roleplaying in Siden and in Insilico! *grits teeth* I just have ideas that I can't fucking get out of my head without roleplaying! At least I'm constructing my Insilico roleplay character's past in book form--no you may not read it.)

Going sXe on Second Life

Well, I'm back to blogging again, and Second Life is gone from my real life for about one more week. I've been gaining back some balance with my life ever since I started my break from it, but I can't stay away for long. I mean, I co-own a punk club on there--and that means that I have to make decisions, make sure djs show up and do their sets, hire more djs, look for hosts and hostesses to hire, set up shop underneath the building (the club is up in the air, in a "skybox"--easily defined as a building designed to be suspended in the air), create products to sell, buy a rent-a-stall system, set that up, set up the vendor system I bought not too long ago, and do some djing myself. At the same time, I have to manage my real life (the life people NOT in-the-know commonly refer to as "first life"), and NOT fail out of classes. Plus, there are some bills to pay, some meds to refill, etc, etc. Hygiene wasn't taken care of, and neither was my dorm room--it was a disaster area! :O Plus, due to my addiction to SL, I had been missing classes......

But this is no longer: I had allowed the coordinator and transition specialist of the College Program for Students with Asperger's to hold on to my computer monitor for at least a week, or until I start getting a grip on my real life. After adjusting to finding other things to do in the evenings, I also had started going to bed earlier, adjusting back to functioning in the local time zone, rather than the time zone in the game known as Second Life Time (really, the US Pacific Time Zone, where the company that runs Second Life is located). However, I learned that going to bed earlier than normal has been fail for me at the very least, but I'll probably get better at it as time passes. In the meantime, I'm still looking for social events to attend, I'm cleaning myself up, losing weight by going to the recreation center (still cool!), taking more showers, etc. In a way, I'm going straight edge on SL, abstaining from it, but only briefly.

Now, I understand that there are people out there who are screaming at me while reading this post: "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING? STRAIGHT EDGE IS A MOVEMENT FULL OF PEOPLE USING VIOLENCE TO GET YOU TO ABSTAIN FROM DRUGS, SMOKING, ALCOHOL, AND SECKS! AND TO GET YOU TO BECOME A TREE-HUGGING, FUR-HATING VEGAN HIPPIE HICK!" Unfortunately, for those people, they are wrong. The ideals are right, but the perspective is wrong.

This movement is really a grassroots movement, a positive subculture within the punk culture. In fact, you can claim to be straight edge if you follow certain guidelines:
  1. don't drink
  2. don't do drugs/smoke
  3. don't fuck
That's basically it. (And when I say fuck, I meant casual/pre-marital sex. Pardon my launguage, as well!) Other than that, how much further you can go varies with each straight edger. I mean, yes, there are vegan straight edgers, but that doesn't mean that all sXers ("sXe" is the abbreviation for "straight edge") are supposed to be vegan; it just means that being sXe means something more to these people than the people who AREN'T vegan.

The only problem with this movement is the light that public sees this movement in: many vigilante sXers (known as "hard liners") have been "taking action" to get the "message" out to non-sXers by using violence, such as bombing stores, beating the shit out of people who drink/smoke/do drugs, setting fires and other such unnecessary acts of militant celibacy. I mean, come on! That action is mostly concentrated around Salt Lake City (in Utah), where it is recognized as a gang, and Syracuse, NY. But does it really mean that all sXers are like that?

I'll answer that for you: yes, all hard liners are sXers, BUT not ALL sXers are hard liners.

Think about that for a second. In the meantime, I'll be working on my papers, my projects, exams, assignments, and other school doings, working my ass off at my job, going to an event done by the Student Activities Programming Board (YAYS FOR HALO!), keeping my dorm room clean as best as I can, sniffing around for things to do, sleeping in on the weekends, keeping up with all my friends (not just the ones on SL--in fact, damn you Facebook for all your addictiveness!), and going sXe on SL for one more week! \o/

As a salutation, in parting, I bid you farewell til next time, and until then (since I was actually converted to punk music), PUNK THE FUCK OUT! \o/

Not another "End-of-Semester" Blog Post!

Wow. So many things happened lately and I've survived--for the most part--the first semester of college in my entire life. Yes, COLLEGE, even though high school schedules were structured to be like college--block scheduling really takes a lot out of you, as do sleep and Second Life.

Being addicted to Second Life is nuts. I've been having dreams related to it, more so over Thanksgiving break..... *shudders* So it's probably a problem right now, but i'm having a problem with it being a problem because i don't want it to be a problem! Uh, is that a problem?

But Happy Belated Thanksgiving everyone! Hope you enjoyed your birds as much as i enjoyed my turkey-flavored ham from Perdue! lmao

But yeah, it's exam time..... Reminder for fellow students: in Towers, i kept seeing a flyer taped to the walls and elevators, and i'm pretty sure it's on all your RAs' doors but 24-hour Quiet Hours will start being in effect on Tuesday so everyone can study for exams. And i bleieve i heard correctly that there will be no classes on Wednesday, December 8, for the sole purpose of studying for exams? (and maybe sleeping--i'm falling behind on that, again) Correct me if i'm wrong!

But good luck to you all, and I hope y'all pass your exams! I know i wanna move forward with college--means i get to SEW clothing sooner! (that course is next semester! WOOHOO!)

Final note: you know you've been playing SL for too long if you keep trying to do things in real life that you would do in Second Life.
Examples: jumping up into the air, expecting to fly; threatening to "ban" someone's ass when they're pissing you off; complaining about the traffic by saying "what is up with this f@$king lag?!"; wondering how many prims makes up an interesting real life building; trying to right click objects; asking for teleports to certain locations; looking for the chat bar so you can communicate to people (TRUE STORY! happened to me!); doing the typing thing while in conversation with somebody; not sending someone a picture via cell phone or email or other mode of communication because it's "non-transfer"; figuring out what happened to the "little blue menu"; you hear your bed whispering your name for hours and you can't figure out a way to mute it; and finally, looking for poseballs if you want to do it with somebody............

all worth a real life laugh, especially if you know what i'm talking about!

Enjoy the rest of the week! Cuz trust me: it'll get easier, since we got through the laggy--uh, i mean draggy part of the semester where there's so much to do and not enough time to do it. But if you only slept during the fall break, i tip my hat to you and wish that i had done the same.

For you--a cartoon! LATERS! \m/ (the horns/rocker symbol.....for those not in the know)

Papers, papers and MORE Papers!

Well, might as well fill in the gap here for all of you loyal followers (both official and unofficial) on why there hasn't been a post in so long!

There's SOOO many papers! We've done two so far! *yawns* and we're just going to keep doing them until the cows come home, i guess.......

as for the previous papers:

--Paper #1: letter to college president: i got an A!

--Paper #2: late, but i'm probably going to pass it, too

--Paper #3: on deck; informative paper--explore a topic of interest to me/write a public service announcement/present findings to a sociology class about student behaviors on campus......

one of those three, and i go with academic......i can't wait to share what i am going write with everyone else through my paper on Asperger's Syndrome!

Also, a note on Second Life: it's incredibly fun (and there IS a Marshall University campus on there! just fyi) but also incredibly addictive.....i mean, i'm taking a break from it altogether. It's been messing with my sleeping patterns and causing me problems. That's not good.....

So, there's that going on......also a Powershift event is going on this weekend. Can't wait to for that to happen! There's so much energy there! And so much action! Would make some great photos online........

And i am trying sooo hard to get some sleep.......Second Life has robbed me of so much sleep that i need a day devoted to just sleeping! and not this saturday either--i have stuff to do that day!

Well, there's your update.....looking forward to writing one that's not all over the place and focuses on at least just one subject rather than just jump from subject to subject........

Laters!
